Our History

1970 - First Optical Line Tracer machine for automatic welding of boss fixtures to the outer cases of fast jet engines.

1972 - Patented Plasma Welding Gas Slope Control integrated with the weld current, for defect free final weld slope down.

1973 - Patented Rotary head for rotation of the weld torch and wire feeder mechanism in X-Y axis profile machines.

1982 - Weld shape build up of components with a Tig and Plasma wire feed process.

1983 - Patented in-process micron measurement of turbine blades as they are ground to size.

1988 - One of the first companies to introduce complete microprocessor controlled weld systems (computerised control of the digital, analogue and servo functions).

1989 - The first commercially available video camera Seam Tracker for the tube industry.

1992 - New to the industry an advanced integrated Bellows Weld Lathe with video positioning.

1996 - Further developed vision cameras as an operator aid to work in high welding current applications.

1997 - First to Introduce touch LCD GUI panels to our systems replacing pendants, switches and buttons.

1998 - Combined real time video images with the LCD GUI screen.

2004 - Added real time Bellows video tracking in two dimensions while welding.

2008 - Laser OD bellows welding and tracking.

2010 - Miniature vision camera for continous tube back face weld penetration monitoring.

2011 - Multi–torch internal pipe fin welding.
